Hello! My name is Tracey, when my youngest son died tragically, I didn’t just lose him—I lost my ability to see colour.
Literally. The sunset looked grey. Flowers had no vibrancy. I couldn’t think creatively at work, couldn’t cook with love, couldn’t even choose clothes that reflected my spirit.
The woman who used to bring beauty to everything she touched, who could solve problems with innovative thinking, who approached life with creative joy… that woman died with my son.
For months, I couldn’t paint, couldn’t write, couldn’t even arrange flowers or cook with love. But it went deeper than that. I couldn’t think creatively at work. I couldn’t bring presence to my relationships. I couldn’t find beauty in anything. My entire creative life force had gone dark.
That’s when I understood something profound: Our creativity isn’t separate from our will to live—it IS our will to live.
When we lose our connection to our creative essence, we don’t just lose our ability to make art. We lose our ability to innovate, to problem-solve, to bring beauty and meaning into our daily existence. We lose our reason for living.
But here’s what saved me, and what I now know can save anyone: Creativity isn’t something we do—it’s who we are when we’re most authentically ourselves.
My journey back to creative aliveness became my life’s work—guiding others from grey to gold, from creative drought to creative flow, from existing to creating a life that’s a work of art.
